Orly - Luxe
Welcome to my first post as the proud owner of my own .com!!! That's right no more blogspot for me. Woohoo! I decided that if I really wanted to get serious about blogging that I needed to make that leap. I'm probably way more excited about it than a grown woman should be but I can't help it. I was jumping up and down and all giddy like a school girl that just got asked out by her biggest crush last night. And to start this party off I've got Orly Luxe to share with you. So let's get to the polish, shall we...
Orly released Luxe in the spring of 2010 as part of the Foil Fx collection. The finish on this one is pretty unique. Instead of being all one color, Luxe is made up of tiny gold and silver particles giving more depth to the finished look than your typical gold polish.
Shown here as 2 easy coats plus top coat. Application of Luxe is smooth with even coverage on each coat. And would you look at that, no real brushstrokes! You don't see that very often with a metallic finish.
I like how this looks like real foil on my nails yet there's no texture to it at all. Even before adding the top coat I had smooth nails. I used Luxe for quite a few manicures during the Christmas nail art challenge but the best look at it is in my art-deco attempt while reviewing some nail vinyls.
Even though Orly released this color in 2010 you can still find it in stores. In fact, I saw it at Sally's the other day if you want to add it to your collection. I'd love to hear what your go-to gold polish is in the comments. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
Congrats again on your .com!! :D I love how this looks on you, you can wear golds so well!
ReplyDeleteSuper pretty color! I'm Sooo in love with gold. Congrats, too! I'm prepping for mine. It's coming soon!
ReplyDeleteI am older than you are and I can tell you I was excited the same when I got my own .com! I perfectly understand the feeling ;)
ReplyDeleteI am usually not a gold lover but this foil is super interesting!
Congratulations! The next question to ask is when are you moving to Wordpress?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love Luxe - I have this, the rose gold, and the silver cousins. And congrats on your own .com!! I've been debating getting my own as well but haven't made the plunge yet.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice metallic shade!
ReplyDeleteNice gold. Looks like it would be great for stamping! Congrats on the domain name! I just around like a little kid on Xmas when I took that leap too! Haha
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting your own .com. I don't have one yet and I have no idea how to. LOL Maybe one day. Haha
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I should get one too...
ReplyDeleteAnd this colour is cool :D
Awe thank you for both the compliment and the congrats. =)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your conversion! It turned out to be pretty easy but i did get a little frustrated and have to step away for a few minutes before getting it all set up.
ReplyDeleteI was drawn to the unique finish on this one for sure. I don't think I've ever worn plain gold as a manicure before but I like it as a base or accent. I've been told I was blessed with young looking genes so we might be closer in age than you think. 40 is right around the corner.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've actually tossed that idea around a bit but it seems like so much work and I almost have this site set up just how I want it. The thought of starting over is a bit scary.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had picked up a few more from this collection cause I'm digging the unique finish. The rose gold sounds familiar though and I might have it hiding in my collection. I'll have to check.
ReplyDeleteI was so impressed that there are pretty much no brush strokes.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm glad I'm not the only one to freak out a bit over it. I have a feeling this will be a good stamper, I just need to test it out.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually easier than I thought it would be. I went through Go Daddy. Right now it was $1.99 for the first year and $12.99 for the second. I figured that was a very reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteThanks. The price was right for me to make the jump. Only $15 for 2 years, and now I feel all official. =)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the dot com! I remember how great it felt when I got mine :D Love this polish!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations on the .com! <3 What a fun foil!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I'm planning on getting a .com soon too, I know just how excited you are ;)
ReplyDeleteVery cool getting the .com! I really need to do that one day... I love this on you, I've never picked up Luxe for some reason!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the .com ^^. I don't own this one, but I do have Rage, the rosegold shade from the same series :).
ReplyDeleteThat gold looks really good on you!! Also, congrats on your domain!
ReplyDeleteThank you =)
ReplyDeleteThanks =)
ReplyDeleteI fell all official now and like I can really start to take my blog places. I'm still doing a little happy dance.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I;m not sure what made me pick this up originally, because I own a lot of gold polishes. But I kind of wish I had gotten a few more from this collection because the finish is so different.
ReplyDeleteGah I couldn't remember the name of the Rose Gold thank you!!! It was been bugging me for a few days now but I refused to Google it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! =)
