     Today I'm bringing you 4 polishes from Paint it Pretty that are currently available for purchase for $7.76 CAD. While these polishes all have pretty great names they also have 2 things in common, a bunch of fun glitters and a jelly finish. Now I know what you're thinking, jelly polishes tend to be on the sheer side but these are all surprisingly opaque. This is going to be a picture heavy post so let's jump right in.

     Less Bitter, More Glitter is a blue jelly nail polish with purple shimmer, blue glitters and holographic micro flakes. 

     The Application was smooth and even. While being sheer on the first coat, full opacity can be reached after two coats. There is a nice even coverage of glitters in each coat. Because of the glitter, there is a slight texture when dry, it is minimal and a layer of topcoat will smooth it right out. Shown here as two coats plus glossy top coat. 

     No Glitter, No Glamour is a purple jelly nail polish with pink shimmer, magenta and blue glitters and holographic flakes. 

     The Application smooth and even but the sheerest of the collection on the first coat. Full opacity was reached after two coats and I got an even distribution of glitter on each nail. Once again because of all the glitter there is a slight texture once dry but a layer of topcoat gives a smooth finish. Shown here is two coats plus glossy top coat. 

     I told you this was going to be a picture heavy post! What did you think of these fun glitters? Was I right about the great names? Surprisingly my favorite of the four is Less Bitter, More Glitter and I'm not one who actually wears blue nail polish. No Glitter, No Glamour is my second favorite for its rich purple color, or maybe it's because the Mr's love of purple is rubbing off on me. Either way, I'm a fan and I hope you are too.      Today I have for you an LE polish from Paint it Pretty called Flakes of Dust. This polish will be available for purchase from March 1st-30th for $9.52 CAD a bottle or about $12 US. 

   This beauty is a blue to purple to magenta shifting multichrome with crystal chameleon flakes in pink and aqua and red/gold /green with a jelly like consistency. 

    In my photos, I  used two thin coats on my pointer finger and 3 coats on the ret plus topcoat to help show off the opacity and layering ability of the polish. 

     The application was smooth with a ton of flakes each time I dipped the brush into the bottle. I've found that with flakie polishes it's best to use thin coats to really layer the polish, instead of using a medium to thick coat. The thin coat really allows for the flakies to shine through.

Irish You a Happy St. Patrick's Day

     Color: A yellow gold nail polish with green and holographic micro glitters. 

     Application: Smooth application with even coverage. I had some VNL after one coat and thought I may need 3 for full coverage. Irish You A Happy St. Patrick's Day builds up nicely and full opacity was reached after two coats. There are a few brushstrokes but they are very minimal and the glitters help to conceal them. Shown here is two coats plus top coat.

     

     Yellow gold is not a color that plays nicely with my skin tone so while I think this is a very pretty polish it's not one for me. However, in the summertime when I have a bit of a tan, I would probably like it more on my nails. 

It Ain't Over Till It's Clover

     Hello everyone, I know it's been awhile since I've posted and I'm posting outside of my normal schedule. I hope that doesn't throw everyone off. I thought once summer vacation hit, I'd have more time to devote to writing posts. Well settling into a new house and going on 2 vacations had put a damper on my free time. Don't get me wrong I'm loving every minute of it even if I've discovered that even on vacation you need more hours in the day. Anyway, I didn't start this post with the intention of giving you an update on my entire life, I'm writing it to show you more pretty thermal nail polishes from Paint it Pretty Polish. And they just happen to be available for purchase right now! 

     Once again this will be a picture heavy post so I'll be keeping my words short and sweet. Each polish is photographed in my light box using daylight bulbs.

Indigo Fire

     My overall thoughts are that I love this polish. I like thermal polishes but I'm especially drawn to ones that have extreme color shifts to them. I like that distinct difference to the colors and find myself checking out my nails more often when wearing them just to catch the color shift.

     I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I spent mine alternating between cleaning the house and binge watching the latest episodes of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix. I'll let you decide which one I did more of. But now it's back to the daily grind and I'm already looking forward to next weekend. I have a feeling it's going to be a long week! To help shake off my Monday Blues I've got 3 Thermal polishes releasing today from Paint it Pretty Polish.

   This is another one of my picture heavy posts so let's get some particulars out of the way first. Each polish is shown as 2 coats plus a top coat and photographed in my light box using daylight bulbs. During my swatching session, my hands were unusually warm which made capturing each polish in the truly cold state a bit tricky. But this fact should also help to let you know how effective the color shift is in these polishes. 

Butterfly Wings

     Color: a pale blue polish with pink iridescent shimmer when warm shifting to a pale purple when cold.

     Application: The first coat applied sheer but builds up nicely on the 2nd coat. You can see a slight VNL after 2 coats. A 3rd coat should take care of that if VNL bothers you.

     Finish: Dries to a shimmery smooth glossy  finish

     I really like how both colors in this polish are light and delicate. I think it would be perfect to wear to a gender reveal party or baby shower where the sex of the baby is unknown. Or just when you want something feminine on your nails that's not pink.

Zebra Stripes

     Color: White creme nail polish when warm that shifts to a charcoal gray creme polish when cold. 

     Application: The first coat applied a tad streaky and thin with everything evening out nicely after 2 coats. I did struggle a bit with the application on a personal level that shouldn't affect anyone else unless they are painting Zebra Stripes onto warm hands. Also using the Orly ridge filling base coat which so happens to dry to the same shade of white as Zebra Stripes can cause the same issue. The transition of this polish is so quick that it shifted to white as soon as it touched my nails and almost seemed to disappear. That was amusing and frustrating at the same time because it made it almost impossible to see where I had applied the polish. 

     Finish: Dries to a smooth glossy creme finish

Zebra Stripes in a warm state

     One of the things I love about Zebra Stripes is that the color change is so dramatic and fits the name perfectly. Because of the quick color shift, it was impossible for me to get a full 4 finger shot of Zebra Stripes in its cold state. I'd remove my hand from the bowl of ice water I had sitting next to my light box and before I could pick up the bottle the white color appeared at my cuticles. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the plain white colored anils but I think this would look fantastic with some gray stamping that almost matched the charcoal color of the cold state of Zebra Stripes.

Mermaid Tails

     Color: Deep pink nail polish with scattered blue and fuschia glitter when warm that shifts to a rich purple when cold. 

     Application: Smooth even application that was just a tad sheer on the first coat. Full opacity was reached after 2 coats. 

     Finish: Dries to a glossy smooth finish. I was surprised to find that the glitters provided zero texture in this polish.

     Just like Zebra Stripes, Mermaid Tails wanted to transition almost instantly into its warm state. Thankfully it was slightly slower than Zebra Stripes so I was able to capture an almost 100% cold state in my photos. Out of the 3 polishes, I can see myself wearing Mermaid Tails the most. I like the distinct color shift and looking at this polish just makes me happy.
