Nvr Enuff - Con Artist

Hello, fellow Nailistas. I've got a quick post to share with you today featuring Con Artist from Nvr Enuff. I received Con Artist in my V.I.P bag from Polishcon Chicago last fall. I'm a bit ashamed to say that I wore this back at the beginning of October and am just getting around to blogging it now.  In my defense, it's a great polish for fall or winter so I'm still seasonally appropriate right?

Con Artist is a dusty mauve nail polish with iridescent glass flecks and a smattering of gold micro glitter. I get a warm cozy feeling just looking at it.

The application was smooth and even with tons of glitter in each coat. Two easy coats are all you need to reach full opacity. Shown here is two coats plus a glossy top coat.

After wearing this for a few days I decided to add an accent nail. I reached for some nail vinyls and my bottle of Lumina Lacquers Soliel to create this.

What do you think of the finished look? I know this post was short, sweet and to the point but I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Simple Nail Art

Today I have a simple nail art look to share with you. It's going to be a quick post today since I just got back from my last camping trip of the summer. I love going away, but the adjustment back to everyday life can be brutal.

The look I have for you today is really easy to do. I'm confident that anyone can replicate this look. And the great thing about it is, that you can use any colors you want. It does require a dotting tool or anything you can find that makes small dots.

For this manicure, I did an accent nail of Lumina Lacquer Soleil with Pretty & Polished Carrigan. I chose these two colors because well the first reason is that I just love Soleil and want to use it in every manicure I can, but mostly because I knew that I needed a soft, feminine color to go along with all that sparkly. (And maybe because Carrigan was that days nail mail.) But I think they work really well together.

With my medium sized dotting tool, I added dots to the lower center of my nails tying the whole look together.  A little bit of flash on every nail never hurt anyone, am I right.  So what do you think of my simple nail art look? Would you add the dots to an existing manicure to change up your look from day to day?

Now if you'll excuse me I  have to go unpack and get started on laundry. Or maybe I'll just relax and paint my nails. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Lumina Lacquers- Soleil

It's Friday! I think that calls for a fun, sparkly nail polish. So today I have just that for you. Ladies and Gentlemen feast your eyes upon Lumina Lacquers Soleil.

Gold-Glitter-Indie-Nail-Polish

A golden micro glitter polish that is extremely holographic. Soleil is the sister polish to Maleficent and Silver Springs! While all 3 polishes are beautiful, Soleil is my favorite and the only one I own from the trio.  In fact, I fell in love with this polish and found myself hitting the purchase button before I was halfway through reading the review from Imperfectly Painted.

The application was pretty good for a glitter polish. I was able to get lots of glitter on the brush and it flowed smoothly. If you're one to apply thin coats you will need 3 or 4 to reach full opacity. The glitter likes to move around on the nail with thinner coats. But if you're like me and tend to do thicker layers you can get away with 2.

Soleil does dry to a rougher texture and is top coat hungry. I used 2 layers of top coat to get a nice smooth finish.

Even though I absolutely love this polish wearing it alone as a full manicure can be a bit much so I decided to add some stamping on top. I used my new Winstonia plate W-04 and Finger Paints Black Expressionism for this design.

Please forgive the picture quality, I took it with my cell phone after being at a BBQ all day. And my flash may have gone off, but you get to see just how sparkly Soleil is this way. I get bonus points for that right.

What do you think of Soleil? This might just be the first polish I've purchased that I want to get a backup for. I can see myself using this all the time as an accent nail, or for nail art. Also, did you notice I use bigger pictures in this post? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that too. Should I stick with this size or go back to my original size?

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
