The Pretty & Polished 2016 Fall Collection consists of 10 polishes in total. We have Thermals, Glitters, Flakes, and Dusty Cremes!
Lavendarling is a holo Lavender Polish filled with pink and blue flakes. This polish will turn to a darker blue/purple when cold. The change is subtle but very pretty.
Fall in Love a Latte is another thermal. This shade changes from a light brown to an off white when warm. It is filled with different shades of glitter that we feel represent Fall.
Taupe me off and Leaf! is a taupe creme polish packed with browns, golds, coppers, and orange glitters to represent the falling leaves of the season.
Heavy Metal (the name is self-explanatory lol) is a silver based polish packed with metallic glitters in silver, gold, and copper. It also has a sprinkle of color shifting flakes that may be hard to see if you aren't looking for them.
Dark Magic is a dark gray creme holo with metallic purple hex and holo glitters.
Fuzzy Sweater is a mustard yellow creme packed with color shifting flakes.
Riverside Drive is a dark midnight blue creme with blue, silver and dark gray flakes.
I Done Plum had it! is a plum creme shade packed with copper orange flakes.
Patch is a pumpkin orange dusty creme.
Creme De La Creme is a creamy sand shade and another one of our Fall Dusty Cremes!
This collection will be available at Polish Con in Chicago on September 17th and available online (www.shopprettyandpolished.com) on September 23rd!
Color changers are $9 each
Glitters and Flakes are $8.50
Dusty Cremes are $7.50
You will be able to purchase the full collection for $78 (which will qualify domestic orders for free shipping).

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I spent mine resting and catching up on a little housework. It was a much-needed rest and I'm almost back to feeling 100%. Today I'd like to share with you Carrigan from Pretty & Polished.
Carrigan is a pale peach polish with a hint of a pink undertone that dries to a glossy finish. I love peach polishes and this one is no exception.
The application was an adventure for me. I tend to apply my polish in a thicker coat than most. Applying it this way caused streaking but the polish did level itself out. I learned that if I applied thinner coats I had no issues what so ever. Blame the streaks on user error. I only mentioned it because I'm sure I'm not the only person to apply thicker than average coats of polish.
Look at that glossy finish! This is 2 coats without topcoat. Unfortunately, at the time I'm writing this Carrigan is no longer available in the store, but you might be able to find one in a blog sale. I will be keeping my bottle because I really like this color and it makes a great base for nail art.
What do you think of this color? I'd also love to hear what your must have polishes are from Pretty & Polished. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Today I have for you the Veils Collection from Maybelline. This collection consists of 5 polishes, 2 shimmers, and 3 glitters. Maybelline advertised this as a textured collection but I think those of us in the nail polish community can agree that these are nothing like the textured polishes we are used to. I guess you could say they have a slight texture because of the glitters, but nothing more than a typical glitter polish. All polishes are shown with 2 coats over a base color and without top coat.
Crystal Disguise is a milky based polish with teal and blue shimmer. I've layered it over OPI 4 in The Morning.
The application was smooth and easy. Each coat packed a ton of shimmer.
Rose Mirage is a clear polish with rose gold colored micro glitter. I chose to layer it over Pretty & Polished Carrigan.
Application with this one was a little tricky. I was able to get semi-decent glitter coverage if I used very light brush strokes. I think the dabbing method would have worked out better. I didn't have to fish for glitters, but they did want to slide around on the nail.
Blue Glaze is a dusty blue micro-shimmer polish. I layered this one over OPI 4 in The Morning.
The application was again smooth with a lot of shimmer in each coat. I like how this has an almost icy look to it on the nail.
Amethyst Aura is a clear base polish with dark blue circle glitter and light blue micro-shimmer. I layered this one over JulieG Santorini.
The application was easy with this one. No playing around with the glitters was required to get nice even coverage. Although I do have to say when I hear the word Amethyst I think of purple and not blue. So the name is slightly confusing to me.
Teal Beam has blue and gold micro glitters in a clear base. I chose to layer it over JulieG Tahiti.
The application was really good with this one. I was able to get even glitter coverage without fishing or dabbing.
Overall I like this collection of nail polish toppers. There were no application issues, and the colors seem to go well with a variety of base colors. I don't know if I have a favorite but Rose Mirage and Blue Glaze are up there at the top of the list. Do you have any favorites from this collection?
I picked this collection up at Wal-Mart but have come across them wherever Maybelline nail polishes are sold. I didn't see limited edition anywhere on the display or online, but I'm not sure if they are going to be part of the core line. If I find out for sure I will update this post. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
