Swatch and Review of SassyG Birthday Magic 2019 Duo

Today I'm bringing you another look at some of the prizes available in my current giveaway. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to check it out! A few smaller prizes have been added and I want them to be a surprise for the winner. Are you excited?

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the brand SassyG. I know I haven't heard much about them which, to be honest, is a real shame. The focus behind this brand really warms my heart and deserves more attention. Here's a little bit about the company from their website:
"Saniyya Grace is a young entrepreneur who is truly a change maker. She has developed a nail care brand for the girl who loves color and is ready to create a beautiful world. Sassy G is a 10-Free, Vegan, natural nail care system. Sassy G is committed to creating beautiful, vibrant, high-quality products that make you feel fabulous and help to make the world a better place. With each purchase you, make it possible for The Sassy Squad to visit resident facilities for the handicapped and developmentally delayed to provide free manicures and a whole lot of joy!"

Now I feel just awful because I really should have gotten this post up earlier. Sadly, this is the last day to purchase the birthday duo for $15 and really help this young entrepreneur and the Sassy Squad out. *After this post went live the maker has informed me that the polishes will remain on sale until Feb 20th, 2019* I'm sure you want to see the polishes right? Well, let's get to it!

On Ten is a beautiful blue polish with silver mirror chrome added to give it an awesome shimmer and pop. The formula is easy to work with. The polish flowed smoothly off the brush for an even application on the nail. While it was more opaque than I was expecting on the first coat, you will need two to reach full opacity.  Shown here is 2 coats plus topcoat.

I really like the color on this and the added shimmer adds nice visual interest. The one downside is that there are some minor brushstrokes. They didn't bother me as much because they are truely truly and not easily noticed but if you're one who really dislikes any sort of brushstrokes on your nails I have a tip to avoid them that I shared in my review of the Orly Pastel City collection. It really is a gamechanger for me when it comes to polishes that dry with heavy brushstrokes and worth checking out in my opinion.

Kumi which is Swahili for ten. Is an Amethyst polish with a soft peek through pop of pink shimmer which almost gives off a color shifting look. Once again the formula was very easy to work with. Just like On Ten you will need two coats for full opacity. Shown here as two coats plus topcoat.

For me, this is one of those colors that can be worn year round and still be seasonally appropriate. The dusty feel is a nice lighter choice for the cold days of winter. The pink shimmer gives me a spring feeling while the pastel tone would work for summer or fall.

That's all I've got for you today. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Swatch and Review of The Fresh Start Trio from All Mixed Up Lacquers

I know I can't believe it myself, 2 posts in 2 days but there is a method to this madness! Today I thought it would be fun to take a closer look at some of the polishes available in my current giveaway.  If you haven't entered yet don't worry, there's still time! The giveaway ends on Feb 8th and is open to US residents 18 and older.

Let's take a look at the 3 thermal polishes All Mixed Up Lacquers was nice enough to donate as well as provide a set for me to review at a discount. Thermal polishes are a huge trend right now which was why I was so excited to be able to offer these up as part of the prize. This is the Fresh Start Trio.

The formula for this trio was consistent throughout. While not particularly sheer on the first coat, you definitely need at least 2 coats for full opacity, if you have a distinct or bright white free edge I'd recommend 3 coats. Each polish is shown as two coats plus topcoat.

It has been extremely cold here lately so cold in fact that the school that I work for has closed for the week due to the temps. Think -65℉ windchill and threat of frostbite within 4 minutes on exposed skin.  Because of this, my transition shots were very hard to capture. My hands started to shift back to the cold state almost immediately.

Frozen B**** Face has a navy to light blue shift with gold flakies.

In the cold state, you will see the nice deep navy blue with a sea of golden shimmer. When the polish is in a warm state you see a light ocean blue along with the golden shimmer.

A Splash of Optimism is a dark to light shifting thermal nail polish with gold flakies.

In a cold state, you see a nice forest green that leans a bit to the army green side thanks to the gold flakies.  Once the polish is warm you get a nice light almost pastel spring green.

Change of Heart is a maroon to pink shifting thermal nail polish with gold flakies.

Just like the other two polishes in this trio you get the darker color in a cold state and the lighter color in a warm state. In this case, you get a nice rich berry color when the polish is cold and a bright sort of bubblegum pink when the polish is warm.

I like all 3 colors in this collection but have to be honest and tell you that Change of heart is my favorite. I actually wore it for a full week on my recent trip to Nashville. When I returned home I had a small chip on the pointer finger of my right hand but very minimal tip wear.

Which color do you like best? Will you be entering the giveaway? Be sure to check back tomorrow where I'll be sharing 2 more polishes available to win. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Just for Fun Giveaway (CLOSED)

Hello everyone, long time no posting. I've been pretty much absent from blogging and the nail polish community since October and I have to say it's been a nice break. I did take that time to give my blog a makeover and I hope you like the new look. I've decided to take a step back and start blogging more as a hobby rather than try and focus on turning this into a job. What that means is that I will be posting less frequently, and to be honest a bit sporadically for now. I want to focus on quality content and enjoy what I'm doing rather than quantity and put out posts just to get them posted.

I thought a fun way to get back into blogging and remind people that I'm still here is to kick things off with a giveaway! This giveaway will have one winner and is open to U.S residents 18 and older.

For now, the prize consists of 12 handmade jelly polishes for all your leadlighting needs, a small paint pallet to help with nail art, a set of dotting tools, a trio of thermal polishes from All Mixed Up Lacquers, a birthday duo from Sassy G, cute little nail polish highlighters set, a bottle of Wet N Wild Topcoat and, 4 polishes from Sinful Colors.

I'd like to include a few more nail art supplies so as I shop throughout the week more items could be added.

The giveaway will run from 1/29/2019 - 02/08/2019. Winner will be randomly selected through raffelcopter and notified within 24 hours. If the winner does not respond within 72 hrs a new winner will be drawn. Good Luck!
