     I hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather was so nice here that some friends and I got together for a BBQ and outside games. I might have even gotten a slight tan! I love the warmer weather and everything that it brings. For today's post I'm doing a comparison of white nail polishes and how well they stamp. You might remember my previous post about black nail polishes or you might not it was quite a few months ago. I sort of got sidetracked when it came to making this a series. oops! 

     For this comparison I used Konad stamping white, Sinful Colors Snow me White, Milani White on the Spot and Finger Paints Paper Mache and image plate SH213 from Shandy. Just like last time I wanted a design that had a lot of detail to it to really see just how well the polishes would work.  Let's take a look at my results. For this test I used Sally Girl Curfew as my base color. 

     As you can see there are a few patchy spot in the Konad design. This is due mainly to user error. I scraped a little too hard and removed a lot of polish. I didn't notice it until after the image was already on my nail.  Not the most accurate for testing I know but I think you can still get a good idea of how it works so I decided to not re-do it. 

     All 4 polishes stamp well but they have different opacity to them. Surprisingly the Milani has the most opaque image even though it was the thinnest when applying it on the stamp. Sinful colors did the next best job as far as a crisp clear image goes.  The Konad and Finger Paints seem to be equal in opacity.

    

   Over all based off of this experience Id have to say that Milani White on the Spot is the best nail polish for stamping out of these 4. Even beating out the stamping specific polish from Konad. Impressive considering it's also the oldest of the 4. I've had this bottle for almost 3 years now. What so you think of these results?      Good Morning!! I don't know about you but I'm pretty pumped it's already Wednesday. Why am I so excited? Well I have the rest of the week off from work so I can attend some programs for my kids at school and then Spring Break starts for the school I work at. That means that I have the next 11 days off from work! That gives me time to work on some things for my blog. Like today's post for example, today I'm bringing you a review of the 230Pcs/Box Newly Round Rhinestone Flat Back Acrylic UV Gel Nail Art Decoration Hot Selling Wheel  or as I like to call them, Black iridescent rhinestones from Born Pretty Store.

     This kit contains 230 rhinestones in 4 sizes ranging from 2 mm-4mm. As you can see in my picture the backs are completely flat which means you can get a nice seal on your nail during application. I've used some in the past that have a con-caved back and they tend to pop off easily. That's not exactly a quality I want to have in my nail art supplies.

     So I'll be honest and tell you that I had no idea how I wanted to wear these while showing the different sizes. I've had them sitting here taunting my for a few months just waiting for inspiration to strike. Sadly it never did and I ended up randomly placing them on my nail when a pattern emerged.

     That's a lot of bling on one nail isn't it! This is way outside of my comfort zone but it started to grow on me as the day went on. I decided to not add any top coat because I thought it would end up looking gloopy and take away from the finished look.. Even so each rhinestone stayed put while I did 4 loads of laundry. I thought for sure the ones closest to the tip would pop off during the folding process.

     Good morning everyone. I'm posting a little later than normal today, the whole day light savings thing has really messed with my internal clock and has thrown everything off for me. Anyone else feeling it's effects? 

     Today I have a review of the Proclaim hair glue that people have been using  in nail art lately. Hair glue for nail art? No I'm not crazy, it works as a mask around your nails to help with clean up. The product  was first brought to my attention by Amanda of Amanda Loves Polish when she posted a quick video and I immediately knew I wanted to try it.  After all anything that can make clean up easier is my kind of product!

     I picked this bottle up at Sally's for about $1.37. It's available in 2 colors light and dark and is a much cheaper alternative than liquid palisade. I went with the dark version so I could make sure I would be able to see it on my skin. 

     Application was a bit tricky and I ended up making a bit of a mess. I posted a picture on IG and Facebook with it on my fingers and received a lot of comments about decanting it into an empty polish bottle. Unfortunately I don't have any empty bottles laying around so I had to improvise. I started with a base of Milani White on the Spot and applied the glue once that was dry.

     Happy Friday everyone! Anyone else glad this week is almost over? I have had a heck of a week at work and am more than ready to just out my feet up and relax. Maybe at the new Cinderella movie, anyone else going to see it? I'm still in my unable to pick a polish funk so this time I had my son pick one out. He opted to raid my mini collection and picked out Curfew by Sally Girl. 

   

     Curfew is a berry pink with lighter pink shimmer. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat. It's a bit on the sheer side but built up nicely during application. 3 coats would cover that VNL. I opted to only do 2 since that is the typical number of coats people apply. Plus I know most people tend to skim through blog posts and might not catch if I had applied more to reach full opacity. So going for full transparency about this polish you get 2 coats, VNL and all. Did you catch what I did there... hehehe I'm so clever in my overly tired state, or at least I think I am. 

     Application was easy. I did have a minor issue with the smaller brush tonight and ended up with more polish along the sides of my nails than I usually do. Which is odd because the smaller brushes typically work better for me. I'm not entirely convinced it was the brushes fault though, it may have been user error. Did I mention I've had a rough week? 

     I'm sure my daughter actually picked this one out during one of our many shopping trips to Sally's. She seems to think that because the bottles are so small that they must be meant for her.  She's so cute about it and they are cheap enough that I usually give in and let her pick out 2 each and every time. What can I say I'm a push over when it comes to her nail polish logic. After all she does make an excellent point.

     Sydney was a little disappointed that I didn't let her pick the nail polish this time around. But she recovered quickly and decided that she wanted to paint her nails for this post too, but only if she could use a polish she picked out. 6 years old and already a little Diva. Lord help me when the teenage years hit.

     For today's post I let my daughter pick any polish from my helmers that she wanted because I was completely overwhelmed and frankly didn't want to make the decision myself. You know we've all been there. 

     Sydney decided that I needed to share with you Plum Gee-nius a group exclusive by Ellagee. Her reason for choosing this one? It has one of those stretchy rings around the brush and she wanted it for herself! Hey her way of choosing was better than my idea of sitting there with my eyes closed and just reaching into a random drawer. 

     Since this was a exclusive polish and is in no way available for purchase I wont go into a lot of detail about the application and such. I will tell you that like all of my Ellagee polishes this one applied flawlessly. I've used 2 coats plus top coat in the following photos.

     Plum Gee-nius is a deep purple linear holographic polish, but its not quite as dark as it wanted to photograph. The struggle of photographing purple nail polish is real people!

     Last week I shared Frost Bite with you from Cuttin' Edge Polish. I thought I'd kick this week off with another polish from the Frozen trio, Let it Go. As I mentioned before this trio was released last year and is no longer available.  Sadly I never got around to using these polishes last year, and that's why I'm sharing them with you now.  And part of my year long no buy is to get through all or umm, most of my untried polishes. I have a LOT of untrieds so it might take me longer than a year to get through them. 

     Let it Go is a medium blue linear holo with just the right amount of iciness to it. With the subtle holo effect this polish also reminds me of denim. Like that perfect pair of jeans that has been worn in just right and are really comfortable.

     While not quite as sheer as Frost Bite, it's still on the sheer side for nail polish. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat.  In my photos you can still see some VNL but it was not visible with the naked eye. 

     I ended up using Let it Go as the base for some nail art in the Christmas nail art challenge I did. You can see how it looks in this Icy blue and white manicure. I figured the color and the name where a perfect fit for the theme. 

     Now for that year long no buy I mentioned above. Its been 2 months and I've been good about not buying anything. But all you other nail bloggers out there are making me test my will power with all your gorgeous swatches and nail art. Seriously you are a bunch of talented ladies and it's been quite the challenge not giving into the temptation, but I enjoy it also. Mad props to all of you and keep up the great work!
