Cuttin' Edge Polish - Let it Go
Last week I shared Frost Bite with you from Cuttin' Edge Polish. I thought I'd kick this week off with another polish from the Frozen trio, Let it Go. As I mentioned before this trio was released last year and is no longer available. Sadly I never got around to using these polishes last year, and that's why I'm sharing them with you now. And part of my year long no buy is to get through all or umm, most of my untried polishes. I have a LOT of untrieds so it might take me longer than a year to get through them.
Let it Go is a medium blue linear holo with just the right amount of iciness to it. With the subtle holo effect this polish also reminds me of denim. Like that perfect pair of jeans that has been worn in just right and are really comfortable.
While not quite as sheer as Frost Bite, it's still on the sheer side for nail polish. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat. In my photos you can still see some VNL but it was not visible with the naked eye.
Application was smooth and easy with even coverage for each coat. To be honest I was expecting the first coat to be much sheerer than it was, which is always a nice surprise in my book. The holographic effect is not super strong but it is there. Giving off a subtle rainbow effect as the light hits it at different angles.
I ended up using Let it Go as the base for some nail art in the Christmas nail art challenge I did. You can see how it looks in this Icy blue and white manicure. I figured the color and the name where a perfect fit for the theme.
Now for that year long no buy I mentioned above. Its been 2 months and I've been good about not buying anything. But all you other nail bloggers out there are making me test my will power with all your gorgeous swatches and nail art. Seriously you are a bunch of talented ladies and it's been quite the challenge not giving into the temptation, but I enjoy it also. Mad props to all of you and keep up the great work! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
This is a really pretty polish. Sad it's no longer available, but hey ho.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the no-buy. I feel with you, I had almost a year off as well, and know how hard it can be.
What a nice color!
ReplyDeleteThis is totally like worn denim…great shade!
ReplyDeleteI am on a no buy as well but only because my untried are overflowing! I need to start rotating them back into the mix! This is like denim like Jessica said!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blue! Great pics :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty blue! I'm a sucker for blues! I wish you so much luck for the no buy...I can only imagine how it'll test your willpower! You're doing an awesome job though! Think of how much money you'll save! You should set up a swap with a fellow blogger or two so you can try different polishes to help lessen the pain :p
ReplyDeleteThat holo... it's so lovely! I love the shade of blue too!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely color!! Good luck with your no buy too. I can't imagine actually declaring a no buy but luckily (or not luckily haha), me rarely having anytime to actually paint my nails has helped me cut down on how much I actually buy. I'm horrible about working through my untrieds though haha!
ReplyDeleteLet It Go is such a pretty blue!!! I love your holo shot of it!!! Congratulations on success with your no-buy so far!! You can do it!! I know how hard it is with temptation!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty blue shade, and sometimes subtle holo is even better as it doesn't overpower the color itself :).
ReplyDeleteThis is super pretty! It totally reminds me of Frozen before I even saw the name of it lol.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous colour!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue and it looks beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I just saw an entire collection by Glam polish that I really really want and Im hoping that the boyfriend picks up on my not so subtle hints. heheh
ReplyDeleteThanks =)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had worn it sooner, but now is better than never right?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure 80% of my collection is untired. It was getting out of control and I felt more like a polish collector than a blogger. It's crazy how fast it happened too.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually an admin for a sample swapping group, but I haven't done any swaps yet. I'm having too hard of a time deciding what I'm willing to part with. My polishing hoarding is a bit out of control at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI like that it;s a softer blue but still a true blue color.
ReplyDeleteLately I've had a hard time finding the time to paint my nails too. I actually wore this back in December but am just getting around to blogging it now. My lack of funds, purchasing a new car and wanting to save money for a house have helped spur the no buy. Hopefully the big ticket items will help me keep my will power.
ReplyDeleteThank you. That holo was playing hide and seek with my camera for a bit. Im really glad I was able to capture it in at least 1 decent shot.
ReplyDeleteI agree. This was the blue looks soft but still a true blue color. You just get those flashes of sparkle from time to time.
ReplyDeleteHaha I love it when the names completely fit the color.
ReplyDeleteThanks =)
ReplyDeleteAwe thank you!
ReplyDeletePretty! Lovely swatches, I think this'll be a good shade for ocean-y looks in the summer too!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I can see it working out great for an ocean look manicure. That's a great idea =)
