The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge Day 3: Snowmen
Welcome to Friday and the third day of the Christmas Nail art Challenge. Today's theme is Snowmen. For last year's snowman theme I did a traditional manicure and this time around I wanted to shake things up. Unfortunately, I was really stretched for time so while this isn't your typical snowman manicure, it didn't exactly test my nail art skills either.
Trying to stick with my nontraditional color scheme for this challenge I started off with 2 coats of Carpe Noctem Literary Lady plus top coat. While that dried I tried to come up with the kind of snowman design I wanted to do and which colors I wanted to do it in. That's where I got stuck. Nothing I pulled out of my helmers seemed like the right polish to use and I was running out of time.
And then I remembered I had these cute little snowmen decals that I picked up from Sally's last year on clearance. If you're looking for cute seasonal decals and stickers at a cheap price always go after the holiday has passed. You might not get the best selection, but the prices are pretty darn good! I don't know about you but I am all about saving those pennies.
So there you have it my quick and easy snowman manicure for today's prompt. I'll see you back here on Sunday with my Santa/elves manicure but in the meantime make sure to check out the other snowmen manicures from today. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
Yay for the decal save! They're totally cute so you picked well. Also love that base color. Cute mani!
ReplyDeleteI feel like my stash for seasonal decoration is way too small. I need to get some stickers or decals, too! I'll check the prices before and after ;) They can always come handful next year as you said!
ReplyDeleteNo kidding! I feel kind of bad about not doing any true nail art so far in the challenge, but all of a sudden I got busy. I'm hoping I can change that this weekend and maybe work ahead a little.
ReplyDeleteYeah I always want them for this year, and it stinks waiting a whole year to use the stuff you pick up afterwards, but if it saves me money I'm all for it. The tricky part is remembering what you have. It helps me to keep all my decals separated by theme in a file folder.
ReplyDeleteLol don't even sweat it. I'm the queen of the nail charms this challenge!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with a quick mani, this is super adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI hate when things don't turn out like you want with nail art, but I like the background color, and the decals are super cute. :)
ReplyDeleteThose snowman decals are so cute.
ReplyDeleteThank you. =)
ReplyDeleteYou are but they are really cute charms. I wish I had someplace like that around here to get some. I might have to do a little looking online after the holidays to see if I can find some cheap ones.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It felt a little like cheating for a nail art challenge, but some days you've got to do what you've got to do I guess.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Im hoping I can get a bit ahead on the prompts this weekend and not feel so rushed. Then maybe I can do some real nail art.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. I'm glad I remembered I had them.
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd picked up some holiday decals when I saw them at Sallys. Cute mani!
ReplyDeleteYay for timesavers - especially when they're as cute as this!
ReplyDeleteDecals for the win! Plus these are so cute!
ReplyDeleteCute decals! And that's a great idea to check out seasonal polishes/ accessories after the holiday is over!
ReplyDeleteThose decals are adorable and that polish is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe nail art which you created looks really lovely on your nails!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures as well!

I super love those decals! <3 The base polish is stunning on its own too! I don't even care about testing my nail art skills sometimes because I just adore decals and some of my favorite manis have utilized them!
ReplyDeleteThose decals are super cute! I'm thinking they will look fabulous over a gradient snowy background ;)
ReplyDeleteThese decals are too cute, love them!
ReplyDeleteThank you. In about a month I will be back at Sally's picking through their clearance for more!
ReplyDeleteYes time savers have been my life raft for this challenge.
ReplyDeleteThank you =)
ReplyDeleteI will be back as Sally's in about a month digging through their clearance to stock up for next year.
ReplyDeleteLiterary Lady is so pretty. I took photos of it before the decals so I could give it it's own post.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Literary Lady is so pretty I will be giving it it's own post soon.
ReplyDeleteI have a huge stash of decals. I need to use them more but also want to work on my nail art skills. Sometimes I'm torn on which way to go.
ReplyDeleteI bet they would! I have a few more left I could try it with.
ReplyDeleteThanks =) I like the added sparkle the rhinestones give.
ReplyDeleteI love that polish! Very cute manicure!
