Rimmel - Mintilicious
I've got another quick post for you today featuring Mintilicious by Rimmel. It's a quick post because there really isn't a whole lot to say, and I'm not feeling like my usual quirky self at the moment. I'm trying and failing to fight off a migraine and sitting at my computer isn't helping one bit. So to spare my poor head, let's jump right in.
Rimmel Mintilicious is a green-leaning teal creme released in the summer of 2013. The formula on this one was pretty good. A little uneven on the first coat but the polish flowed off the brush smoothly with nice control. While not completely dry in 60 seconds this polish does dry rather quickly. I found that if I tried to go back over my nail before dipping the brush back into the bottle the polish would streak and drag. But, this polish dries rather quickly which means less time spent waiting to apply that second coat, and you can be out the door faster. See what I did there, quick-drying has its pluses and minuses. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat.
I like the color, its fun and bright, perfect for the season. But it's not really one that I see myself wearing on its own often. I did use it as a base for some fun nail art, that I'm not quite ready to reveal yet. hehe. I did leak a teaser photo on Instagram the other day. Do you want to see it? Well, of course, you do right!
Ohhh I wonder what it could be! I see some sparkle in there. Maybe some marbling or is that needle drag? You'll have to wait to find out.
Rimmel Mintilicious can still be found on shelves at Wal-mart if you're looking to add it to your collection. Don't forget to stop back again when my nail art is revealed. Thanks to stopping by and Happy Polishing!
Nice green. I find the spring/summer makes me lean toward green/blues. Looking forward to seeing the teaser revealed.
ReplyDeleteHaha Thank you! I feel like I put a lot of pressure on the nail art to be awesome, which I think it kind of is. But the nail art that I love typically gets less love from readers than the art I feel is only ok. Funny how that works. =)
ReplyDeleteLovely color. Hope you start feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how this compares to the now-discontinued For Audrey?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely polish! Can't wait to see the full nail art!
ReplyDeletePretty color! I've never tried Rimmel polishes but always look at them at the drugstore. Can't sit to see the nail art :)

ReplyDeleteThank you. The nail art is all set to be revealed on Friday.
ReplyDeleteI own a handful and have had some pretty good success with the ones I've used. Plus they are budget friendly which is always a plus in my book.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It went away for most of Wednesday but is back came back this afternoon. I've got it to a manageable state at the moment. I really need to figure out what triggers them, they come on so fast sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThank you =)
ReplyDeleteI've decided I must like these shades more than I thought. I just discovered I have quite a few in my collection. lol
ReplyDeleteIve had good luck with each one I've used. Plus they are budget friendly!
ReplyDeleteIts starting to grow on me which is a good thing because I just realized IO own quite a few polishes like this.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The migraine keeps coming and going. Just when I think it's gone Bam it hits me again. It made the last 2 hrs of work today a struggle to get through. Especially since the students were giving a choir concert. With special needs kids even on a good day it's not always music to your ears, but they sure enjoy preforming.
ReplyDeleteYour wait is almost over, it will me live on the blog tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThanks =)
ReplyDeleteNeedle drag is a technique where you put a few drops of polish on your nail and then "drag a needle through it" to create a marbles effect. A lot of people will use a nail art brush instead of a needle though. I have not been successful in my previous attempts at this, usually I gauge my base color and make a big mess. But I've only tried it using a toothpick.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the reveal of the nail art!! That is a really pretty minty teal color on you!
ReplyDeleteLovely color..waiting to see whats coming up next..
