OPI - It's Totally Forth Worth It

Today I have another quick post to share with you. This time around I've gone mainstream with OPI's It's Totally Fort Worth It from the 2011 Texas Collection.

OPI-Texas-Collection-2011-It's-totally-fort-worth-it

It's Totally Fort Worth It is a silver frost with purple micro-shimmer. Shown here is 3 coats plus top coat. As you can see even after 3 coats this is still a very sheer polish. Id have to say that this would work better as a topper, than wearing it all alone. Unless you're going for a subtle hint of color look.

The application was pretty easy with even coverage for all 3 coats even though this polish is a little on the runny side.  Staying true to the frost finish there were a few minor brush strokes which thankfully seemed to almost disappear once my top coat was added. There's nothing that can ruin a polish quite like those annoying brushstrokes.

The micro shimmer is slightly more visible than shown here in my photos which I think saves this polish from being a boring pearl like color and more like mother of pearl.  I can see this looking great over a darker color so that shimmer can really shine.

What are your thoughts on polishes like this? Wear them alone or layer over a darker shade? Let me know in the comments. As always thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

  1. I am not a fan of polishes like this, they don't tend to look against my skin tone. But I've never tried layering it over a darker shade, that might work well.

  2. Pretty shade - Not something I would typically wear though!

  3. I'd definitely layer this, this sheer finish isn't really my kinda thing. I can imagine the shimmer is really beautiful in the sun!

  4. I'm really not into frosty/ pearly polishes, but I've never tried layering it over a darker shade. Maybe it'd look nice that way!

I've had this polish for awhile but don't think I've used it. It's pretty though! I actually prefer to wear lighter shades like this on thier own

  6. The shade itself would be fine on its own, if it wasn't so sheer.. It is too sheer for my personal taste, but I would make it work with some stamping over it or a glitter gradient on the tips!

  7. Im not really a fan either. I wish I would have thought about layering it over a darker base before my post went live. It would be interesting to see how much the color changes.

  8. It's not really something I would typically wear either. Especially not alone.

  9. I wish we had some sunny days so I could confirm that. It's been pretty grey and drizzelly here for the last week.

  10. This is probably one of my least favorite finishes and VNL gets on my nerves for some reason. But I wanted to show this polish as is so I had to deal with it for the short time I wore it.

  11. I don't mind the lighter shades but the VNL bothers me for some reason.

  12. It's too sheer for me also. But I like the stamping idea =)

  13. I'm not a huge fan of such sheer shades but I'm sure it can find use in nail art.
