Bling and Swirls Nail Art
How is everyone today? I don't know about you but I'm very happy it's Friday. I'm even more happy that it's a holiday weekend and I don't have any plans. It seems like I've only been home long enough to wash clothes and repack before we were off for another adventure. I did manage to fit in a few nail art looks between trips and I wanted to share one of my favorites with you today. I call this look Bling and Swirls. But I bet you could have guessed that by the title of my blog post huh.
A few of you may have already seen this look floating around the interwebs in various places but in case you missed it here's your chance to see it in all its glory!
I started with a base of Bling! from Colores De Carol. Bling! is a scattered holographic polish that is meant to be a topper but with determination, a little patience and 3 thin coats of polish I was able to get very close to complete opacity. This polish has a serious wow factor to it! Just check out that sparkle in the video below.
Now while I loved how Bling! looked it needed something more, and since I'd just gotten my first order of Uber Chic plates in the mail I figured I better put them to good use. I can't be the only one who opens those nail mail packages and has their fingers just itching to use the pretties inside.
I didn't want to cover up the sparkly goodness but I wanted something that would make a bit of a statement. I think this swirl image from Uber Chich plate 10-2 worked perfectly for what I was going for. It's a bold pattern but the thin lines keep it from feeling chunky and intrusive. Because the lines were thin I wanted to make sure that the polish I used would be nice and opaque. Well in my collection the obvious choice was As Black As Night by Hit the Bottle. This has become my go to black stamping polish. One of these days's I'm going to have to compare it to the other black nail polish I have and update my black nail polish comparison post.
Of course, I had to take a photo outside in the sun! I wanted to show off that sparkle as much as I could. I'm also trying out a new to me hand pose and I have to say I'm really digging it. So that's all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed this look and let me know what you think of the new pose. Enjoy your weekend. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
