Today I have a polish for you that has been sitting in my untried pile for months just begging me to use it. Beguile from the Revlon Brilliant Strength line. Sadly this line is no longer available. Revlon discontinued it to make way for the new gel line.
Beguile is a blue multi-chrome polish that shifts between dark blue, teal and purple. Although the purple is not as easily spotted as the other shades of blue.
This was a hard one to photograph, and unfortunately, there was no sun to try and capture all the colors in. The application was good, a little sheer on the first coat but nothing to worry about. I've shown it here with 2 coats plus top coat.
Would you look at that bottle! Those colors, that sparkle. That's what I was seeing on my nails and so miserably failed to capture. I actually almost didn't do this post because I feel like the images are just wrong. But I need to share my failures along with my successes.
I decided to try out adding a feather as an accent because well why not. I've had them sitting around for a while too and I'm working on actually using my supplies instead of just collecting them.
I didn't realize how dark the feather would get once I added a layer of top coat over it. It was a bright teal color and was a great contrast with the darkness of Beguile. It was fun to wear for a day anyway.
I'm sad that this line of polishes is no longer available. I've had very good luck with the few I have in my collection. And the brush is probably my favorite to use. What are your thoughts on this line? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
That's got a nice shimmer to it. :) I still have many untrieds I need to get to.ReplyDelete
I think my utried pile is bigger than my tried pile at this point. I have so many sitting there that I dont know which one to use first.Delete
Ohhhhh the polish is wonderful but that accent nail is just perfect! <3ReplyDelete
Thank you. I kind of wish it hadnt darkened so much with the top coat on it, but it worked out. Just not as I had originally planned. lolDelete
this is a really pretty shade :)ReplyDelete
The color shift was pretty strong. Its going to be a struggle for to capture polishes like this over the next few months. The sun goes down an hour after I get home and my lightbox just isnt the same.Delete
I think that feather accent is just great! :) I had this polish, but it was sold in my "Great De-stash". haha!ReplyDelete
Well now someone else gets to enjoy it!Delete
Oooh, this looks really pretty! I'm loving the feather accent, too! I need to start using my supplies too instead of just collecting them, haha, you've got it spot on there!ReplyDelete
I dont even know how I got so much stuff, its starting to take over more than just the tops of my helmers.Delete
What a great polish! I really like Revlon polishes, but I don't have any from this line. I love when you discover an untried that's just amazing :)ReplyDelete
I love it when that happens too. Its like winning the lottery or finding hidden treasure.Delete
That's such a great color. I really should try more colors from this line.ReplyDelete
I only own about 8 or 10. I havent used them all yet, but I will be soon. And then probably pouting because I cant get anymore. lolDelete
This is pretty! That feather is the perfect accent for it!ReplyDelete
Thanks! I thought the teal would help bring out the teal shimmer in the polish.Delete
Oh MAJOR BUMMER!! This is so pretty, especially that blue shimmer!!!ReplyDelete
Thanks. I think I might try one of the new gel ones to see if the brish is the same or maybe the colors. I've only worn gel once but who knows I might end up liking it.Delete
Such a pretty shade! And discontinued? Boo!ReplyDelete
Yeah I havent found any polish from this line in stores lately. =( But I think this color is close to Sally Hansen Back and Blue. I might compare them and see how close they really are.Delete
I see the pretty shimmer on the bottle, I hate it too when I couldn't capture what I see in person. I'm sure the polish is more beautiful than the pics, as you said :)ReplyDelete
It seems to be happening to me more and more lately. And I havent changed anything with my lighting set up. I know it's about time for a new camera but I wouldnt think it would take worse quality pictures as it aged.Delete
This is a gorgeous polish and I love the feather accent!ReplyDelete
This is such a pretty polish! The shimmer is gorgeous!ReplyDelete
It really is! And the colors are pretty intense in real life.Delete
