China Glaze - Givers Theme
Earlier this summer I was given the opportunity to share the press release for The Giver Collection by China Glaze with all of you. Of course, after that, I stalked my Sally's until they got it in stock and purchased the entire collection. And its sat here on my desk waiting to be used ever since. Instead of showing you the entire collection in one post I decided to break it up and share a few here and there. First up is Givers Theme.
Givers Theme is a highly pigmented red toned purple polish that dries to a glossy crème finish. Like most purples, this one was hard to photograph accurately. My pinky nail comes the closest to true color. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat.

The application was smooth and easy with even coverage on both coats. No streaking or splotching with this one. Which is pretty much what I've come to expect from China Glaze.

I really kind of like the red undertone that Givers Theme has. It's not your typical purple polish color. And these days with the amount of polish I have it's getting harder and harder to find something unique.
I haven't come across this collection in stores anymore but it is still available from Sally's online if you want to pick one up. There are a few others in this collection that I can't wait to try, but Givers Theme is up there at the top right now as one of my favorites. Did you pick up any from this collection? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
I'm generally not a fan of the more eed-leaning purples because they look funky on my skin, but this is a really pretty shade.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first red tones purple polish that I've worn. I think the fact that it's a lighter shade helps it look better with my skin tone.
ReplyDeleteRed toned purples usually don't play well with me, but luckily your skintone doesn't give you that trouble!
ReplyDeleteAt least this one didn't. I haven't used any other ones so far. I'm not sure a darker one would look as nice, but I guess I'll find that out if I use one. =)
ReplyDeleteI really like red-toned purples (all purples really!), and this one looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteIts a nice purple. I don't own much colors like this too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty purple! It looks lovely on you!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful purple!! I love China Glaze's formula.It's the best!
ReplyDeleteI love this purple so much! Definitely one of my faves from The Giver Collection.
ReplyDeleteIs it me or is it quite similar to Gothic Lolita?
ReplyDeleteIt's quite pretty! And always makes a good base for a nail art :)
ReplyDeleteThis is really gorgeous! I did pick one up, the bright blue, I'm drawing a blank on the name right now.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty shade!!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the shades I desperately wanted, but couldn't find at my local stores. Looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you =)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I own any other colors like this to be honest.
ReplyDeleteThanks =)
ReplyDeleteI love China Glaze polishes. I own a ton and really need to start getting more up on my blog to share.
ReplyDeleteIm excited to try the other polishes from this collection.
ReplyDeleteTBH Im not sure. I don't think I know that polish. off to google it....
ReplyDeleteI like the way you think. I'm trying to get more nail art up on my blog. That is the reason I started getting into nail polish after all.
ReplyDeleteCapacity to see Beyond. I swatched that one also. And then added glitter tips to it. I should have that up on the blog next week. =)
ReplyDeleteI agree!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you can find it in a blog sale or for a great price someplace.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I only picked up a couple of the pale neutrals from this set, but this shade is stunning too. :)
ReplyDeleteOoo this color looks very pretty on you! I've passed on it a couple of times, but you definitely have me rethinking that decision ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I originally was only going to pick up 2 or 3 but after seeing everyone's swatches I decided to get the entire thing.
ReplyDeleteAwe why thank you. IF you decide you want it I hope you can find it easily.
ReplyDeletewow your nails look so stunning!

The Giver collection has really nice shades, but I agree with you about the formula, it seems to be hit or miss, glad to hear this one is a hit!
ReplyDeleteI was happy with The Giver collection, but I agree, a few shades were iffy on formula
ReplyDeleteoh wow ummm thank you =)
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to play around with the other colors.
ReplyDeleteIm not looking forward to the ones that are iffy, but I cant wait to try the other ones.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty color! I didn't pick up anything this collection but I'm wishing that I had!
ReplyDeleteI always love such colours. Great swatch!
