Philly Loves Lacquer - Absecon
Does anyone have a case of the Mondays? I had a very uneventful weekend but I'm still not ready to start the work week. I thought Id start out this week of posts with a polish I gave a sneak peek at on my page last week. Absecon was released by Philly Loves Lacquer as part of the Summer Down the Shore collection. Each polish in this collection held a special memory for Esther. Absecon is based off the Absecon Lighthouse in New Jersey. Here's a little bit about this collection in her own words.
"Growing up on the East Coast meant that most of my childhood summers were spent down at the Jersey Shore. From Atlantic City to Cape May, you could find me on the beach making sandcastles. With the Summer Down the Shore collection, I wanted to bring a bit of Jersey nostalgia back, so I picked all of my favorite places and used them as my inspiration for this summery collection."
Absecon is a light icy blue with a hint of grey crelly polish with subtle linear holo that reaches full opacity in 3 coats.
Application is easy and smooth with the first coat applying quite sheer. When I say smooth application I mean smooth application. I had absolutely no streaking which is impressive for such a sheer polish.
The holo effect in Absecon is not as strong as most holos but you can get a quick glimpse of the flame effect in the right lighting. Unfortunately it decided to hide during the photo session and I wasn't able to capture it on film.
And of course because I can't seem to wear just plain polish anymore I had to add an accent nail. If you've followed me for any amount of time you know I love floral manicures and I had the perfect item here to complete my look.
I picked these water decals up at Claire's a few years ago and they worked out perfectly. They add a little something to the manicure but still allow you to see all the sparkle. What do you think?
Absecon is still available for purchase if you'd like to add this beauty to your collection. You can pick up a bottle for $12 here. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
The decals work perfectly with this polish! It's almost like a rainy day on your nails. LOL. :)
ReplyDeleteUgh yeah, serious case of the Mondays here! I don't know why because it's sunny and not too cold, but I just wasn't feeling it today. Love your polish!
ReplyDeleteMonday blues here as well! Pretty color, Perfect for the colder snowy weather :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice light color this is. Its pretty with the cute decal accent.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely colour! And the roses look like a perfect accent :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color! And the water decals are a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI love soft holos like this - very pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful color and a subtle holo! I definitely don't have a case of the Mondays this week (I'm on vacation!), but here's hoping your week looks up soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shade, i loved the rose decal as well. It gives a vintage painting feel
ReplyDeleteI have a case of I hate the whole week lol. It's always a drag going back to work after a week off. Gorgeous shade! And the decal was a very nice touch.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really pretty shade! It's so sweet and I am a sucker for light blues... And those decals go great with it!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely and the accent nail complements it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I had almost forgotten about having the decals, so glad I went hunting through my stash and found them.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here was pretty much the same, but it was hard to get moving or motivated. I just wanted to sit in the sun all day.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking it would make a great cold weather polish also, even if it is a lighter color.
ReplyDeleteThank you =)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shawna =)
ReplyDeleteI was all about the bright in your face holos for a long time but lately I have come to appreciate the softer shades.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation! I shouldn't have a case of the Mondays, I just had 3 weeks off from work. I think I enjoyed the time off a little too much and that made it harder to go back. lol
ReplyDeleteThank you =)
ReplyDeleteOh thats right you were just on vacation. The first few days back are always hard arent they.
