Lumina Lacquers- Soleil
It's Friday! I think that calls for a fun, sparkly nail polish. So today I have just that for you. Ladies and Gentlemen feast your eyes upon Lumina Lacquers Soleil.
A golden micro glitter polish that is extremely holographic. Soleil is the sister polish to Maleficent and Silver Springs! While all 3 polishes are beautiful, Soleil is my favorite and the only one I own from the trio. In fact, I fell in love with this polish and found myself hitting the purchase button before I was halfway through reading the review from Imperfectly Painted.
The application was pretty good for a glitter polish. I was able to get lots of glitter on the brush and it flowed smoothly. If you're one to apply thin coats you will need 3 or 4 to reach full opacity. The glitter likes to move around on the nail with thinner coats. But if you're like me and tend to do thicker layers you can get away with 2.
Soleil does dry to a rougher texture and is top coat hungry. I used 2 layers of top coat to get a nice smooth finish.
Even though I absolutely love this polish wearing it alone as a full manicure can be a bit much so I decided to add some stamping on top. I used my new Winstonia plate W-04 and Finger Paints Black Expressionism for this design.
Please forgive the picture quality, I took it with my cell phone after being at a BBQ all day. And my flash may have gone off, but you get to see just how sparkly Soleil is this way. I get bonus points for that right.
What do you think of Soleil? This might just be the first polish I've purchased that I want to get a backup for. I can see myself using this all the time as an accent nail, or for nail art. Also, did you notice I use bigger pictures in this post? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that too. Should I stick with this size or go back to my original size?
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
This is…. *stops to wipe drool off of my face* …. flipping amazing!!ReplyDelete
Oh my gosh Jessica you're comment just made me laugh out loud. And I have to say I completely agree.Delete
That's a gorgeous gold glittery shade! The stamping, wow!ReplyDelete
Thanks Lisa. I absolutely love this polish and have already used in it 2 other manicures.Delete
Wow, that is fantastic!ReplyDelete
I absolutely love it!Delete
My goodness this is fabulous! I keep seeing swatches of it around and it is on my "to get" list. Lovely swatches!ReplyDelete
This one was a little more than I like to typically spend on a nail polish, but It is worth it an more IMO. It really has that wow factor.Delete
Okay, third time is the charm since my comments keep disappearing LOL. I love this polish!! I keep seeing it floating around and boy do I need it!!!!! Don't apologize for the cell phone pic, you were able to capture the holo glitter perfectly!! I love polishes like this that are multiseasonal, you can wear them year round!!!ReplyDelete
Oh No I'm sorry you had such a hard time commenting. I know that can be frustrating, it happened to me last night on a blog I was reading. This just might be the enabler in me but YES you do need it! It goes with practically everything.Delete
...that was me falling in love.
LMAO!! That might be the best comment I've ever gotten on a blog post!Delete
This!! Every time I see swatches of this polish, I want to drool! (or I did, you never know :p)ReplyDelete
You can imagine how much I drooled while wearing it. lol I am so glad that I went with my gut and just purchased it, instead of my typical trying to justify the purchase to myself. A girl has to spoil herself every now and then am I right. =)Delete
I love this polish so much, it's so sparkly!! I like the bigger photos too!ReplyDelete
Thanks for your input about the photos. I wasn't sure if they would be too big.Delete
Oh wow, this polish is fantastic! I am not one for using glitter polish because, the removal process you see. But that one looks so thick and well done and sounds easily applicable too! Maybe I need to make more exceptions :3ReplyDelete
I used to avoid glitter polishes like the plague because of the removal process. A peel off base coat helped change my mind. Now it's Wear All The Glitters!!!!Delete
