Swatch and Review of SassyG Birthday Magic 2019 Duo

Today I'm bringing you another look at some of the prizes available in my current giveaway. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to check it out! A few smaller prizes have been added and I want them to be a surprise for the winner. Are you excited?

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the brand SassyG. I know I haven't heard much about them which, to be honest, is a real shame. The focus behind this brand really warms my heart and deserves more attention. Here's a little bit about the company from their website:
"Saniyya Grace is a young entrepreneur who is truly a change maker. She has developed a nail care brand for the girl who loves color and is ready to create a beautiful world. Sassy G is a 10-Free, Vegan, natural nail care system. Sassy G is committed to creating beautiful, vibrant, high-quality products that make you feel fabulous and help to make the world a better place. With each purchase you, make it possible for The Sassy Squad to visit resident facilities for the handicapped and developmentally delayed to provide free manicures and a whole lot of joy!"

Now I feel just awful because I really should have gotten this post up earlier. Sadly, this is the last day to purchase the birthday duo for $15 and really help this young entrepreneur and the Sassy Squad out. *After this post went live the maker has informed me that the polishes will remain on sale until Feb 20th, 2019* I'm sure you want to see the polishes right? Well, let's get to it!

On Ten is a beautiful blue polish with silver mirror chrome added to give it an awesome shimmer and pop. The formula is easy to work with. The polish flowed smoothly off the brush for an even application on the nail. While it was more opaque than I was expecting on the first coat, you will need two to reach full opacity.  Shown here is 2 coats plus topcoat.

I really like the color on this and the added shimmer adds nice visual interest. The one downside is that there are some minor brushstrokes. They didn't bother me as much because they are truely truly and not easily noticed but if you're one who really dislikes any sort of brushstrokes on your nails I have a tip to avoid them that I shared in my review of the Orly Pastel City collection. It really is a gamechanger for me when it comes to polishes that dry with heavy brushstrokes and worth checking out in my opinion.

Kumi which is Swahili for ten. Is an Amethyst polish with a soft peek through pop of pink shimmer which almost gives off a color shifting look. Once again the formula was very easy to work with. Just like On Ten you will need two coats for full opacity. Shown here as two coats plus topcoat.

For me, this is one of those colors that can be worn year round and still be seasonally appropriate. The dusty feel is a nice lighter choice for the cold days of winter. The pink shimmer gives me a spring feeling while the pastel tone would work for summer or fall.

That's all I've got for you today. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
