Valentine's Day Nail Art - Heart and stripes

Happy Friday everyone! You have no idea how happy I am that it's the start of the weekend. This has been one busy hectic week for me and I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish out Valentine's week. Thankfully that was not the case.

Today's Valentines manicure is a recreation of a pin I found on Pinterest.  This manicure was done by Nails by Jennifer and is beautiful! I wanted something that I could create quickly but also execute fairly well. I knew this Heart and Stripes manicure was just what I was looking for the minute it graced my computer screen.

I used Zoya America and Trixie along with Finger Paints Paper Mache as my base colors. There is some VNL  after 2 coats of Trixie in the photo but it's not noticeable with the naked eye. For my stripes I used a silver striper from Finger Paints and a black one from Kiss. This time around I was able to make a fairly decent heart using my dotting tools. I think the fact that this one was bigger helped. I topped everything off with a generous coat of Seche Vite for added shine.

My stripes are not as clean and precise as the original manicure but I like it that way. It has more of a homemade feel to it.  And did you notice there's zero red streaking around the heart? I learned a thing or two from my recent Santa debacle. Now I just wish I had had time to paint both hands! What do you think, is this a manicure you would wear?

I hope you have enjoyed Valentine's week on my blog. If you haven't already make sure to check out my previous manicures where I created a heart beat and interlocking hearts. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and a fantastic weekend. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

  16. I completely feel you on the busy day. I actually only painted the 4 fingers in the photo because I was so stretched for time. I hope you get to relax a bit this weekend.
