Literary Lacquers - 84, Charring Cross Road

Today I'm bringing you another beautiful polish that's been in my collection forever but is only now being featured on my blog. Although I have shown it previously in a quick and simple dotticure. 84, Charring cross Road was released in the fall of 2013 as part of the community collection from Literary Lacquers. Sadly it is the only Literary Lacquer polish in my collection right now but if I know my polish buying habits that will be changing soon!

84, Charring Cross Road was designed by Sheila of Pointless Cafe and based off the book of the same name.  A story of Franke and Helen set in the 40's. And to read Sheila's description makes me want to rush out and buy a copy to read myself. I love when I can find out the back story of how a polish was created, besides just being a pretty color I mean. Because we all love pretty colored polish but they just seem that much more special when they have a back story.

I would describe this as a sepia taupe base color with subtle linear holo and some silver flecks added for good measure. While the holo isn't always obvious, it certainly is gorgeous when it does show up. as you can see below in my next photo.

The application had me a bit worried that 3 coats would be needed to reach full opacity because the first coat applied rather sheer. Turns out I had nothing to worry about as it builds up nicely and reached full opacity after 2. Shown in my photos are 2 coats plus top coat.

As of right now, this polish is currently not available for purchase, but I just found out that the shop will be reopening on June 23rd so mark your calendars. At the moment I don't know if 84, Charring Cross Road will be included in the reopening but it never hurts to look and you might find some other pretties that need to come home with you.

So what are your thoughts on 84, Charring Cross Road, did I pick out a good one to start with? What are your must-have polishes from Literary Lacquers? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
