I can't believe it's December already! Where did the year go? It seems like just yesterday I was contemplating the goals I wanted to set for myself for 2017. It was a rocky start and I'm glad that I didn't set goals that were too lofty. It helped me feel like even though I didn't get a lot of posts up I still accomplished a few things. But I'm getting off track as I so easily do... I have decided that because I missed out on so many holiday-themed manicures this year I am going to dedicate the month of December toWinter and Christmas/New Years related posts. To kick things off I'm going with a not so traditional look to a New Years manicure. Although you could wear it for a Christmas or winter themed manicure too I guess, it does remind me a little of snowflakes.
I started off with a base color of Sinful Colors Blackboard for the Back to School School Goals Collection released earlier this year. Then I added 2 layers of Princessly Polished Variance. A clear based polish with multichrome glitters that shift from purple, blue, orange and, Magenta. A layer of Finger Paints Psychedelic Hue from the 2014 Kaleidoscope Collection was added to the mix. I topped everything off with Your Mattejesty top coat from Princessly Polished. I wanted the matte look so that the uniqueness of each polish would really pop.
For the stamping design, I used Hit the Bottle polish Amethyst Sizzle and BBF plate BBF49. I love the way the image lets you see the polishes layered underneath. This is probably one of my favorite stamped manicures I've ever created.
I opted to not add another layer of top coat after this step because I wanted the contrast of the sparkly stamping polish to stand out. I just love the finished look and as you might have guessed am really proud of this manicure. Do you think I made the right decision to not add top coat after stamping?
