Mrs. P's Nail Potions - The Autumneleon Collection

Happy Wednesday everyone. Who tuned in to watch Nail'd it! last night? I actually just finished watching it before I sat down to write this post and wow can I say Drama drama drama! Thankfully the only drama you will find in my post are some dramatic new multi-chrome polishes from Mr's P's Nail Potions. Even better I have the entire collection to share with you today.

Up to No Brew is a multi-color shifting chameleon lacquer that shifts between cyan, blue, purple, and red.

Autumneleon Collection

Did you notice the color shift on the left side of the bottle there! WOWZERS!  You will get that on your nails as well, just maybe not in pictures. I think it's time to do some research and invest in a newer camera. The one I've been using is at least 10 years old.

Out of the 4 polishes, this one had the least favorable application for me. I say that because the other 3 are almost 1 coat polishes, whereas Up to No Brew took 2 thin coats for full coverage. The first coat went on a little sheer and you may be tempted to do multiple strokes on one nail to get better coverage. I suggest avoiding that or you might experience some slight dragging. I may have found that out the hard way. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat.

Harvest Sunset is a multi-color shifting chameleon lacquer that shifts between indigo, purple, red, and orange.

The Autumneleon Collection by Mrs P's Nail Potions

Hello, Gorgeous!  Ok, I think we all need to take a moment and just appreciate how pretty this looks on my nails. And it will look fantastic on yours too!
.......
.......
.......

Moment over, now onto the details. The application was practically perfect. This could easily be a 1 coater polish.  The formula was smooth, with the polish going only where I wanted it. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat. Seriously this is my favorite of the bunch. It has everything I love in a nail polish. It's pink but not just pink, it's that deep pink that is all woman and no little girl. And, it has a strong color shift that gives off flashes of amber and purple. Can you say next pedicure color!

Autumnal Inception is a multi-color shifting chameleon lacquer that shifts between red, orange, yellow, and kelly green.

When you ask people what they love most about the fall season most of them will tell you the changing leaves. Sure you'll get a few that say "pumpkin everything"  but 99% will say the colors.  Autumnal Inception has all the colors of the changing leaves in one polish! How perfectly named was this?

The application was again a dream with pretty close to full opacity with 1 coat. Show here is 2 coats plus top coat. The color shift on this one is simply amazing.

Seasons Turneth Over is a multi-color shifting chameleon lacquer that shifts between green, orange, and purple.

This one had the least color shift of the collection. I actually ended up swatching this one 3 times trying to get good pictures in the different lighting outside. The application was a breeze with almost full opacity with 1 coat. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat.

I have, to be honest, and tell you that after experiencing such amazing colors shifts with the rest of the collection this one was kind of a letdown. Don't get me wrong it's still a pretty polish and I like it. I just think it fell slightly short compared to the rest. What do you think? Also, this is the only one from the collection that is currently unavailable.

Mrs. P's Nail Potions can be purchased on Etsy, with prices ranging from $8.27 to $10.11 a bottle. To keep up with all the latest news and collection releases be sure to check them out on Facebook. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Parallax Polish - Women in Science Collection (Partial)

Sorry for my abrupt absence last week, my entire household came down with the crawling crud and after taking care of everyone I just didn't have the energy or motivation to get on the computer. Everyone is pretty much back to 100% and I'm hoping for a much better week! To kick things off I've got a few polishes from a new to me indie to share with you.

"Parallax Polish is an indie nail polish company that creates polish sets to promote research and ideas in science. All polishes are cruelty and 5-free!" Today I will be sharing 3 of the 6 polishes from the new Women in Science collection.

"Sally Ride is a sheer red polish with sparkle red glitter and a blue flash. Sally Ride was the first American woman in space and a champion for science education."

Pink-Jelly-nail-polish-with holographic-glitter

Because of its sheerness, Sally Ride appears pinker on the nail than red. I personally don't mind because I am a HUGE pink nail polish lover. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat. Based off of the bottle I'm not sure if you added more layers that it would look redder, but I might try it next time. As you can see there is some slight VNL with just 2 coats.

The application was smooth with lots of sparkle in each layer. Because of its jelly-like finish, you'll want to make sure you don't play around with your brushstrokes or you could experience some dragging. While it's not as visible in pictures, the blue micro-shimmer combined with the red sparkly glitters makes for an awesome combo! The shimmer looks like it's planted firmly in the base while the glitters seem to float between layers adding dimension to an already pretty polish.

Jelly-Pink-polish-with-sparkle

"Ada Byron is a delicate purple polish with silver micro flakes. Ada Byron (aka Ada Lovelace) was a mathematician whose work is considered the first computer program while working with Charles Babbage on his Analytical Machine."

Sheer-purple-nail=polish-with-silver-flakies

The application was smooth and easy. It is pretty sheer so 3 coats were needed to reach full opacity. Shown here is 3 thin coats plus top coat. Even though this polish is sheer, I was able to get even coverage with each coat.

My camera wanted to turn this one blue while taking pictures in my lightbox. All photos of Ada Byron are taken outside in natural lighting for color accuracy.  I know it looks like a frost or shimmer finish here, but that's the micro flakies. I've never owned a polish with micro flakies in it and it gives a pretty cool effect on the nail.  It almost looks like it has texture but is completely smooth to the touch. Sadly my camera refused to focus on them for you to see it properly.

"Caroline Herschel is a black polish with holographic glitter and a subtle holographic background. Caroline Herschel was an important woman astronomer discovering many comets and publishing the Catalogue of Stars."

Black-nail-polish-with-holographic-glitter

Like with most black nail polishes, the first coat went on slightly streaky and semi-sheer.  Caroline built up nicely and evened out after 2 coats. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat. Even without the top coat, this polish was smooth and glossy when dry.

I didn't see much of the subtle holographic background on the nail, but it is there. I really like the even coverage I was able to get with the holographic glitters with each coat. There was no fishing or glitter placement required. Even better, it looks like your own little galaxy on each nail!

Parallax Polishes are available from Storenvy and cost $3.00 for 5ml or $8.00 for 14 ml. To keep up with all the latest news be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

I honestly don't have a favorite out of these 3. I like them all for different reasons. I can see myself layering Sally Ride and Ada Byron over black like toppers, and Caroline Herschel as a base for some fantastic galaxy nails. If you had to pick just one which would it be? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Ellagee-Sangria With the Girls (LE)

Today I'm sharing with you a limited edition nail polish from Ellagee called Sangria With the Girls. In fact, this polish is so limited edition that only 5 bottles were available for purchase. Why would I do this to you? Show you a nail polish that can't be purchased? Well for one this polish is so absolutely beautiful that it has to be shared with the world. And for another, I can't contain my excitement over it. And just to warn you, this post will be picture heavy.

Burgundy holographic nail polish
The photo was taken in a lightbox

Sangria With the Girls is a burgundy polish with holographic glitters. Originally made as a gift for a blogger meet up, Laura decided to sell the remaining bottles and I knew I had to get one as soon as I saw the pictures.

Berry colored holographic nail polish
The photo was taken in a lightbox

Laura knew what she was doing when she named this one! Just look at that deep rich color. It's like the perfect berry wine shade and the holo is the bubbles floating up to the surface. Anyone else want a glass of wine now? Ok maybe it's a little early for that, but it is Friday so go ahead and treat yourself tonight.

The photo was taken in full sun

The application was smooth with the first coat going on slightly sheer. But Sangria builds up nicely, reaching full opacity after 2. Show here is 2 coats plus top coat.

The photo was taken in direct sunlight

I decided that even though this polish is beautiful on its own that I really need to start using some of the nail art supplies that I've collected over the last few months. So I tried my hand at making a design with some rhinestones as an accent nail.

The photo was taken with a cell phone in incandescent lighting
Even looking at these pictures now makes me smile.  I just love this polish, I've worn it 3 times now. That's a record for me and a single bottle of polish. It's even on my toes! I never match my nail to my toes.  And now for some photo spam because I couldn't write this post and not share these next two photos, get ready to drool ladies and gents...

The photo was taken in direct sunlight

The photo was taken in direct sunlight
So I hope you can understand why I had to share this gorgeous polish with you today even though it's not available.  One might become available on a blog sale, or there may be a dupe out there. If there is someone needs to let me know because I will probably cry when this polish is gone. And at the rate I've been using it, that might not be too long from now.

What do you think of Sangria? Will anyone be cracking open a bottle a little later on? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

China Glaze - Pelican Gray

Happy Hump Day Everyone! Today I have for you an older polish from China Glaze called Pelican Gray.  Originally released in the Spring 2011 Anchors Away Collection, Pelican Gray is a medium grey polish with silver micro-shimmer.

Grey nail polish with silver micro shimmer

I wasn't too sure I would like a polish the same color as concrete on my nails, but I wanted a nice neutral grey in my collection. After all, you never know when you might need one! I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered I really liked wearing this! The shimmer saves it from being completely boring, even though it's very subtle, yet it still can be an everyday polish or a "pallet cleanser".

Grey nail polishwith shimmer

I'm sad to say that application was a bit of a mess with this one. It's a bit on the runny side and I had some issues with pooling at the cuticles. The first coat was pretty sheer, but it builds up nicely.  Shown here is 2 coats without top coat. I probably could have used a 3rd coat but I was using this as a base for a glitter polish and wasn't too worried about VNL.

Boardwalk from Leesha's Lacquer over Pelican Gray

I do like that this dries to a nice, smooth, glossy finish.  And I would wear this again, application issues and all. Although I do have my fingers crossed that if I mix up my bottle a little better next time I won't have as many. What do you think of Pelican Gray? Did anyone else have the same issues with the application? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
