Revlon - Provence

How was everyone's weekend? I had an amazing time celebrating the 4th with my friends. I'm a little short on sleep though so this will be a quick post. I go back to work in a week and I need to get myself back on a normal schedule. No more staying up until 1 am and sleeping in till 9 for me.

Revlon Provence is a dusty lavender creme that I picked up on clearance a few months ago. To me, it looked like a nice color to have in my collection as a base for nail art and to wear on its own.  It's a nice light shade that works as a pallet cleanser from all those glitter and holographic polishes we all love.

The application was only so-so. Shown here is 2 very thin coats plus top coat. While the polish is a bit on the runny side I had no issues with pooling at my cuticles. The first coat went on a bit streaky but this polish levels itself out so there's no need to do multiple strokes.

While Provence has more of a grey undertone than I typically like it's one of those colors that I will probably reach for again. And it looked really nice under the stamping I did with Mentality Dyad. But I'd like to know if this is a color you'd wear or do the application issues turn you off? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

It is a nice soothing color. Haha I like that you call it a "palate cleanser"- is there really ever too much holo? That being said, it does look like a great base for nail art.

  3. Dusty but classy! It might look gorgeous with some golden or copper stamping :).

  4. Definitely a classy and work-safe shade :)

  5. It's a pretty shade and sure a handy one for nail arts, too. That said, I am really trying to stick to perfect formulas when it comes to bases, they have to go on the nails quick and easy!

  6. This is a lovely color! I think this would be a great base for some rose nail art!

  9. Love the shade, pooling is such a pain to clean up though. Guess I'm on the fence haha

  10. I'm sorry to hear the formula was only ok. I love the purple-greige shades, so this is definitely my kind of colour! And good luck to getting back to a normal routine! :D

Runny polish is as much of a bummer as thick polish. The color is great though!

  13. At least you got it on clearance so the formula bummer isn't too bad. The color is very unique so I would probably bare through the formula just so I could use it with nail art.

I think I have this polish and I'm pretty sure I thought it had bad formula too. Such a bummer!

  15. It's very classy, but I'd probably wanna stamp over it. Then little bits of streaking are not noticable ;)

  17. Nice color but application issues would deter me from buying it

I kind of like this, it's neutral but interesting.

  19. There is never such a thing as too much holo for me, but sometimes I need to mix it up.

  20. To be honest if it hadn't been on clearance I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I normally like brighter colors but it's nice to have a few neutrals in my collection.

  21. Ohhh I bet copper would look awesome! Thanks for the suggestion. =)

  22. I never thought of the work appropriate aspect of it. =)

  23. IT's hard to love a polish that doesnt have a great formula when there are so many options out there that do.

  24. Normally I'm a brighter color kind of girl but I like to have a few neutrals in my collection.

  25. Thankfully even though the polish was runny it didnt pool at my cuticles. But I have a hard time loving a polish with less than perfect application when there are so many options out there that do.

  26. Thanks. The first few days back have been interesting, especially with the kids trying to get used to a new schedule. But so far so good.

  28. Yes, full price might have annoyed me.

  29. I wonder if there is a dupe out there with a better one. I kinda like the color.

  30. I actually did stamp over it, but not a full nail image. I really liked how it looked.

  31. I totally understand. I didnt purchase Masked Affair because of all the application issues I heard about.

  32. That's what drew me to it, along with the clearance price tag of course.
