Shimmer Polish - Jennifer
Today I'm taking a break from the Christmas nail art challenge to bring you a post on Jennifer, a glitter nail polish from Shimmer Polish. The Christmas nail art is fun and all but sometimes you need a break in order to get your creative juices flowing.
Jennifer is a clear based polish with soft blue, pink, periwinkle and holographic glitters in multiple shapes. I used 3 coats on my ring finger over China Glaze Capacity to See Beyond for full coverage. I tried my hand at a glitter gradient on the other fingers.
I've come across several manicures on Pinterest and Facebook showing similar color combinations and I knew I wanted to try it out for myself. It just seems like a winning combination to me. And I love the look of glitter gradients but have a bit of a heavy hand with them so I could use the practice. I just can't seem to get the glitter to fade nicely.
Jennifer has easy glitter application with no fishing required. The glitters aren't as dense as some polishes out there but I think that's a good thing. Not everyone wants full coverage every time they use a glitter polish. And I don't think 3 coats is all that bad to get full coverage from a glitter polish at all. I've used some that take almost twice that. That's a lot of layers on your nails!
I don't see myself wearing this polish alone as a full manicure unless I stamped over it. I'm not a full glitter polish wearing kind of gal. But I do see it as a great accent to a variety of polishes. And I do love a good accent nail, especially when it's a pretty glitter!
Jennifer is still available for purchase at shimmer polish if you'd like to get your own bottle. I'll be back tomorrow with another post in the Christmas nail art challenge. Until then, thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
You can never go wrong with glitter, especially not when it involves Shimmer!
ReplyDeleteI only own 4 Shimmer polishes but they are great ones!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely glitter!
ReplyDeleteI love this as a gradient, and the base color is so pretty with it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the copper tones in there.
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo pretty! I'm like you, definitely have a heavier hand than I'd like with glitter gradients- but I think this is super pretty!
ReplyDeleteso pretty! I love Shimmer polishes!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! It's hard not to have a heavy hand with glitter because it's so pretty! Love this mani :)
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I love all the different colors going on in the glitter!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love Shimmer polish!
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty in person. I couldn't quite capture all the sparkle with my camera.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love this kind of combination.
ReplyDeleteAren't they pretty!
ReplyDeleteAwe I bought the polish Katie because who doesn't like having a nail polish with their name.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think my issue is I have too much glitter on the sponge as I work it up the nail. I'm going to have to work on my technique.
ReplyDeleteI need a few more in my collection.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteThose colors are what drew me to this polish in the first place.
ReplyDeleteThanks. =)
ReplyDeleteI think your glitter gradient is lovely! I'm terrible at making it look like anything besides a blob! Lovely mani!
ReplyDeleteJennifer is so pretty and pairs so great with your base! Lovely gradient!
ReplyDeleteThank you =)
ReplyDeleteThe glitter is really pretty, I like wearing chunky glitter as a topper or gradient like you did here.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've started warming up to chunky glitters lately, thanks to a peel off base coat!
ReplyDeleteMy sister's name is Jennifer and this polish is gorgeous and so sparkly.
ReplyDeleteThank you. This one turned out better than the other gradients I have tried in the past, but it's still not the way I want it.
