Bonita Salon- #Pink

Welcome to my 200th post! Today I have another polish from Bonita Salon to share with you, #Pink. The color of this polish is... yep you guessed it, Pink!  Well, actually it's an iridescent pink with purple shimmer.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the formula for #Pink was better than my previous experience with this brand. You might remember the troubles I had with Miss Piggy a few weeks back.

While the application wasn't exactly flawless, the brush in Bonita Salon polishes allows for complete control. #Pink is a little thin but still gave decent coverage. Just,  don't play around with the polish or you'll get some dragging. Guess who found that out the hard way.

Full opacity can be with reached with 2 coats and #Pink dries to a semi-matte finish. Unfortunately, you lose 99% of the shimmer, once this polish dries. You do get this kind of cool rubbery effect, which is growing on me.

As of right now, I think the formula's for Bonita polishes are like Essie's: Hit or miss. I've got a few more to try out before I know for sure. I'm glad #Pink isn't a huge PITA to work with cause I do like the color, and I think that rubbery finish could make for some interesting nail art. What do you think? Maybe some street punk inspired nails or just something totally 80's! Does it inspire a certain nail art look for you?

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

  1. It definitely has an 80s vibe to it! haha! Glad to hear the formula on this was a bit better, but I do like when brands have a consistent formula across the board.

    1. Me too. I don't like never knowing what you're going to get. Makes me not want to purchased from that brand anymore. I picked up 8 polishes from this brand all at once, I figured I better at least try them all.

    1. I agree. I bet Ive got a few bottles in my stash that are at least close to this color. Not sure they would match the finish though.

    1. So far that's what I've found. But I've only tried 2 polishes so far. I've got 6 more here to get through before I can say that for sure.

  4. I haven't tried this brand yet. I've heard rave reviews about the formula, but I guess every brand has its bad ones.

    1. I'm waiting to try a few more from this company before I make up my mind. I'm kind of hoping that I got a bad bottle of Miss Piggy and it's not a sign of things to come.

  5. That is a pretty color! I saw some of these on a display at Rite Aid a few weeks back and I was wondering about them. They all looked like cremes though. I might have to check a few out.

    1. I've only come across the 1 display at my local K-mart. This was the only one to have any shimmer to it. The others were all crèmes.

  6. I'm a little meh about it alone but I bet some black and white double-stamping would make this 80's-tastic!

    1. I honestly think the only original part about this polish is the finish. I'll have to do an 80's-tastic manicure with it and see if I like it better.

  7. I've never tried this brand before, but this polish is pretty! Not something I would wear alone but it would handy in nail art. This is random but I feel like little cupcakes or ice cream cones would be adorable over this haha.

  8. Oh do something 80's, do it, do it! I have done it once and those ridiculous patterns look awesome on nails!
Thank you for this nice review, good to know about it!

  9. Never heard of this brand before but I really hate when it's hit or miss like Essie! The rubber finish is something I really love though!

    1. I'll be trying out the other polishes I picked up soon. I'm kind of hoping that the one I did was just a flop and that the others play nice. Having it be hit or miss will make me not want to buy the brand anymore. The only Essie's I own I picked up on major clearance.
