Liquid Kandi Nail Lacquer- The Summer Glow Collection (partial)

Hello Everyone! Today I'm bringing to you part of a new collection from Liquid Kandi Nail Lacquer, The Summer Glow Collection. This collection contains 4 polishes: Glow Me a River, You Glow Me Crazy, Cant-elope Glow, and Sunkissed Glow.  I'll be showing you the last 2 today.

Let me start by saying that both polishes had the exact same formula. Which was pretty spectacular if you ask me. The polish flowed smoothly off the brush. With my first couple brush strokes, I thought I was going to end up with streaks, but both polishes leveled themselves out for an even finish.

Cant-elope Glow is a mint green shimmering polish, that glows a pretty aqua green shade. Although it dries to a matte finish, you won't lose any of the shimmers.

Glow-in-the-dark-nail-polish

Cant-elope Glow appears sheer at first, but builds up nicely, reaching full opacity with 3 slightly thick coats. And boy does this polish glow! I stood with my hand under a lamp for about 2 minutes before taking this next shot.

Glow-in-the-dark-nail-polish-The Summer-Glows-Collection

Dry time was as equally impressive as the application. You know the golden rule of nail polish right? Always go to the bathroom before you start. Sure enough 3 minutes after finishing my nails.... Yep, you guessed it. But I bet you didn't guess, not a single smidge, or dent. And that was without top coat!

But how does it look under a stamped image you asked? Ok, so maybe you didn't ask, but I wanted to play around a little with these. Please be kind when viewing this image, my stamping skills decided to take a break while I did this. (3 times!)

Stamped with Sally Hansen Color Foil in Minted Metal and plate BM-203
Sunkissed Glow is a light yellow shimmery polish with a kiss of orange that glows greenish-yellow.

Glow-in-the-dark-nail-polish

Application and dry time are again impressive. Shown here is 3 slightly thicker coats without top coat. Guess what else is the same as Cant-elope... the glow power!

Glow-in-the-dark-nail-polish-The-Summer-Glows-Collection

By this time my stamping skills decided break time was over, but my design choosing skills fell a little short. In my defense, it looks super cute in normal lighting. The lines are just a little too thin to really show up when it's glowing. See what I mean...

Stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-dry Lightening and plate BM-315
I've got a picture on my Facebook page of this in daylight if you want to check it out. Otherwise, you can just take my word on how awesome it looks. And by awesome, I mean the image is straight and it covers the entire nail. Yay, a stamping success!

Now time for the important stuff. The Summer Glow Collection is available for pre-order right now on Store Envy, but they go live on Friday, Aug. 1st. Mark your calendars. Each Bottle retails for $9 or you can pick up the entire collection for $34.

What about the other two colors in the collection? Sadly I don't have pictures to show you but I can describe them! Glow Me a River is a baby blue shimmer that glows a darker blue. You Glow Me Crazy is a bubble gum pink shimmer that glows pinkish orange.

But wait there's more! Liquid Kandi Nail Lacquer also offers subscription boxes, or bags if that's your thing. The box contains 2 full sized polishes, 1 mini, 2-3 nail art tools or designs, 1 feature beauty product of the month AND a sweet treat. You get all that for $30. The bag contains 1 full sized polishes, 1 mini, 1 nail art tool or design, AND a sweet treat. And the price, only $20. Those prices also include shipping and handling.

For more information on these polishes and more, check out Liquid Kandi on Facebook or follow them on IG.

Whew! That was A LOT of information. If you've stuck with me this far I thank you. I've just got one more favor to ask, let me know your thoughts on these polishes in the comments. Reader feedback is very important to me. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Darling Diva- Soubrette

Today I have a beautiful polish from Darling Diva to share with you. Soubrette is a deep purple linear holo polish with flashes of teal, blue, purple, pink and yellow. Soubrette is part of the super multi-chrome holo collection and is available for sale on Big Cartel.

The photo was taken in my lightbox
Here I've used 3 coats of Soubrette plus top coat. I added a decal from Sally Beauty supply as an accent nail. Soubrette is so pretty on its own I didn't want to distract from it with too much as an accent.

I love a good linear holo and Soubrette is no exception. The application was smooth and easy with complete control of where the polish went. It is a little on the sheer side but builds up nicely.

Mulit-Chrome-Linear-Holographic

Of course, I had to include a macro shot of that holo. Just look at the sparkle!

The photo was taken in shade with natural light
And of course, we can't forget about the color shift. For me, I was only able to truly capture the shift from teal to blue to purple with my camera. I was able to see some of the pink and yellow on my nails but it wasn't as intense as the other colors.

Be sure to check out Darling Diva on Facebook, twitter and Instagram to keep up with all the latest news about sales and collections.

So what do you think of Soubrette? Are you going to pick up a bottle of your own?  Don't you just love that last picture! It's my favorite and I knew I wanted to add it to the end. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Mentality-Pinnacle

Today I have the pleasure of showing you a gorgeous polish from Mentality. Pinnacle is a sheer blue polish with blue, purple and turquoise glass flecks. While this polish is meant to be used as a top coat I've chosen to show it on its own.

Mentality-Pinnacle

Shown here with 3 coat alone the application was smooth and easy. Because Pinnacle is meant to be a top coat it is pretty sheer. You'll want to make sure you apply it in even layers and make sure that the first layer is dry before applying the second. I found that when I was in a hurry I experienced some slight dragging.

Mentality-Pinnacle

I have to admit that I was a little surprised that I got this much opacity out of only 3 coats. I thought for sure I would need at least 5. Pinnacle dried to a semi-gloss finish. I have a feeling it would really come alive with the addition of topcoat.

Mentality-Pinnacle

Pinnacle can be purchased online for $8 on Big Cartel. Or you can click here for a direct link. And be sure to check out the other amazing polishes Mentality has to offer.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Ellagee- Stained Glass Collection Part 2

Today I have for you the second part of the Ellagee Stained Glass collection. Don't worry if you missed Part 1 you can catch up here. For this post I have Milk Glass, Ruby Glass and Cobalt Glass to share with you.

First up is Milk Glass. A very shiny slightly creamy transparent polish that is perfectly named.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Collection-Milk-Glass

The application was smooth and easy with the polish flowing nicely off the brush. Shown here with 3 coats alone it really does look like I dipped my fingers in milk.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Collection-Milk-Glass

Just look at how soft and squishy it looks on the nail. Of course, I had to do some stamping between layers again.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Stamping-Milk-Glass

I stamped with Red Angel plate RA-116 and Sally Hansen Color Foil Rose Copper. I really like the way this turned out but I think the image was a little too big for this to look right. Shown here is 4 coats of Milk Glass

Next I have Ruby Glass. A shiny transparent hot pink jelly polish. Don't let the hot pink part scare you away though. After 2 coats Ruby glass started to deepen to a nice rich berry color.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Collection-Ruby-Glass

The application was again smooth and easy. Here I have Ruby Glass shown with 2 coats alone.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Collection-Ruby-Glass

As you can see after 2 coats there is barely a visible nail line. Out of the 3 polishes in this post, Ruby Glass had the highest opacity level with the least amount of coats.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Stamping-Ruby-Glass

For the stamping here I used Knoad stamping white and Red Angel plate RA-111. This image fit nicer on my nail than the first. I have a feeling that if Id placed them a little closer together it would look like a shadow. Shown here is 3 coats of Ruby Glass.

And last but not least we have my favorite of these three. Cobalt Glass is a shiny transparent blue that darkens with each coat.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Collection-Cobalt-Blue

Just look at that beautiful blue color. It reminds me of the ocean! Shown here with 3 coats again I had a perfect application.

Ellagee-Stained-Glass-Collection-Cobalt-Glass

So pretty. I'm glad I waited to swatch this one last because then I could continue to wear it. And it looks even better with some stamping set between layers.

ellagee-Stained-Glass-Stamping-Cobalt-Glass

Again I used Knoad stamping white but this plate is Red Angel plate RA-109. Shown here is 4 coats of Cobalt Glass without top coat.

So there you have it 3 more polishes from the Stained Glass collection by Ellagee. There are still a few more polishes in this collection and I look forward to sharing those with you a little further down the road. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Nail Art-Tape Manicure

Today I'd like to share with you some nail art I recently wore. It's nothing fancy and was actually really easy to do, but I ended up loving it and got quite a few comments about it.

Nail-art-Tape-Manicure

I started out with a base of JulieG Rio De Janeiro from the Cruise Collection 2014. A deep berry pink creme polish that has found a home in my top 10 favorite polishes this year. Then I did an accent nail of Finger Paints Crystalline Crush from the Shredded Chromes Collection. I was lucky enough to win 3 polishes from this collection from Finger Paints and have been impressed with them so far.

JulieG-Rio-De-Janeiro

I decided that just having the accent nail wasn't quite enough. I taped off my thumb and middle fingers an added a stripe of Crystalline Crush to each one. I liked it but something was missing.

Finger-paints-Crystalline-Crush

The addition of the dots was just what this manicure needed. It added a little something without being too flashy and I was in love. I had to use 2 coats of top coat for this manicure to get a smooth finish, Crystalline Crush was a bit rough when dry.

Nail-Art-Tape-Manicure

And here's the full manicure. I normally only do one accent nail, but I think I like this crossover between a skittles manicure and a double accent nail manicure. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
